Patients undergoing general anaesthesia may be required to attend the pre-assessment clinic for routine tests, including: chest x-ray, ECG and blood tests. Prior to discharge, advice is given regarding pain management and wound care.

An appointment is scheduled for the patient in the Outpatient Department with a member of the surgical team. General Practitioners are informed of the patient’s progress following consultations, operations and discharge.
